I’m definitely scatterbrained. The older I get, the more scattered it all gets. I feel like I was more articulate when I was like 13, and I think that’s partly due to learning how to say something without just flat out saying it. I remember the first time I really noticed lyrics - “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” by The Smashing Pumpkins. My friend Mike had the record on and I remember picturing the angry guy singing it as a rat with a human face stuck in a cage. From the moment I heard that song, I knew Billy Corgan was mad and felt trapped - any kid could figure that out on first listen. So, I discovered communication through music. And as I get older, I feel more and more inclined to say some things in a song rather than to someone’s face. One way isn’t necessarily easier than the other. They’re just different. I’d like to do both - communicate through music while still trying to say profound things through my life. I’m always going to be trying to figure that balance out. All that to say, I’m really excited about the new General Ghost music that Kyle and I are making. I hope it makes you feel something when you hear it.

So, I grew up listening to this on a tape with my Dad…it was part of Hell Freezes Over by The Eagles. I think trying to cover anything The Eagles have done is pretty much a bad idea, but we did it anyway. I guess you can just be thankful I didn’t do a 15 minute guitar solo over Hotel California. Maybe next time. Here it is…New York Minute.

In the most serious way…. I just teared up so hard watching this… It’s the craziest feeling seeing friends in bands achieve goals and get to places they wanna go and create art they want to create. Now Now’s new album (‘Threads’) is so inspiring and moving. If you don’t have it, do yourself the favor of BUYING it.
